India achieved its highest-ever monthly production of phosphatic and potassic fertilizers in January 2026

¨     India achieved its highest-ever monthly production of phosphatic and potassic fertilizers in January 2026.

¨     Total domestic output reached 15.76 lakh metric tonnes during the month.

¨     This is the highest monthly output ever recorded, according to the Department of Fertilizers.

¨     Production gains were led by higher volumes of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and NPK fertilizers.

¨     Targeted government support helped strengthen domestic manufacturing capacity.

¨     The Department of Fertilizers noted improved performance across public sector units.

¨     Private sector fertilizer plants also expanded their production capacity.

¨     Industry-friendly policies played a key role in boosting output.

¨     Strategic steps were taken to stabilise the supply of critical raw materials.

¨     Steady availability of raw materials ensured uninterrupted plant operations.

¨     The Nutrient Based Subsidy policy was implemented effectively.

¨     Subsidies were released on time to fertilizer manufacturers.

¨     Higher domestic production reduces dependence on fertilizer imports.
