¨     India announced a Special Economic Package worth 175 million US dollars for Seychelles.

¨     The package will support Social Housing, E-Mobility, Vocational Training, Health, Defence, and Maritime Security in Seychelles.

¨     India and Seychelles signed seven Memoranda of Understanding.

¨     The MoUs cover health, meteorology, electronics, information technology, and governance.

¨     One agreement promotes technical and scientific cooperation in weather services.

¨     It links the India Meteorological Department with Seychelles’ meteorological authority.

¨     Prime Minister Modi described Seychelles as a key maritime partner for India.

¨     An MoU was signed to train Seychelles civil servants in India.

¨     India will share its digital governance experience under a digital transformation agreement.

¨   Cooperation in healthcare will include affordable medicines and medical tourism and health infrastructure development.

¨  President Herminie said the visit reflects long-standing friendship between the two countries.

¨     This is President Herminie’s first visit to India since taking office in October last year.

¨     The visit coincides with 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
