India, Australia, and Canada launched the Australia–Canada–India Technology and Innovation Partnership

¨ India, Australia, and Canada launched the Australia–Canada–India Technology and Innovation Partnership (ACITI) on 9 July 2026.

¨  ACITI is a trilateral technology and innovation partnership aimed at strengthening cooperation in critical and emerging technologies.

¨  The partnership was announced after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the G20 Summit in Johannesburg on 22 November 2025.

¨     It focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI), green energy technologies, critical minerals, and resilient supply chains.

¨     The framework promotes cooperation in clean energy, net-zero emission technologies, and industrial technology projects.

¨     It aims to ensure the secure and diversified sourcing of critical minerals.

¨ ACITI seeks to strengthen technology development, innovation, and supply-chain resilience among the three countries.

¨     Canada contributes expertise in AI research and clean technologies.

¨     India brings its large-scale digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystem.

¨ Australia contributes its critical mineral resources and technology commercialisation capabilities.

¨ The partnership is designed to build a resilient, sustainable, and secure technological ecosystem while supporting long-term economic growth and strategic cooperation.
