India Retains No. 1 Spot in ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings

¨     India retained the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings after the annual update released on 11 June 2026.

¨     India’s rating stood at 118 points, ahead of New Zealand with 113 points and Australia with 109 points.

¨     The ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings are a points-based system used to rank teams in One Day International cricket.

¨     Rating points are awarded based on match results and the strength of opposition faced by each team.

¨     India’s lead over New Zealand narrowed from eight rating points to five points after the annual update.

¨     India’s rating decreased from 119 to 118 points, while New Zealand’s rating increased by two points.

¨     The annual update gives 100% weightage to matches played since May 2025.

¨     Results from the previous two years are given 50% weightage in the calculation.

¨     The annual recalculation method is used by the International Cricket Council for ODI and T20I team rankings.

¨     In the updated ODI rankings, South Africa moved ahead of Pakistan to claim fourth place.

¨     South Africa reached 102 rating points, while Pakistan dropped to fifth place with 98 points.

¨     Australia, the reigning ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup champions, retained third place with an unchanged rating of 109 points.

¨     India also remained at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings following the annual update conducted in the previous week.
