¨     India will host the 11th BRICS Energy Ministers' Meeting in Gurugram, Haryana, on 25–26 June 2026 under its BRICS Chairship 2026.

¨     The theme of the Energy Track is "सर्वेषां ऊर्जम्".

¨     The theme is linked to "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability (BRICS)."

¨     BRICS comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

¨     The meeting serves as a ministerial-level platform for cooperation in energy security, energy access, technology, and sustainability.

¨     India's priorities under its BRICS Presidency 2026 are Energy Security and Sustainability, Energy Access and Equity, and Technology and Innovation.

¨     BRICS countries contributed 51% of global solar electricity generation in 2024, compared to 15% a decade ago.

¨     India has recorded a more than 50-fold increase in solar power capacity over the past decade.

¨     More than 60 million smart meters have been deployed across India's power distribution network.

¨     India has set a target of 410 GWh energy storage capacity by 2032.

¨     Energy storage systems include batteries, pumped hydro storage, and other grid-balancing technologies.

¨     India has achieved 20% ethanol blending in petrol.

¨     E85 fuel has been introduced in the domestic market.

¨     Ethanol blending refers to mixing ethanol with petrol for transport use.

¨     India is expanding Green Energy Corridors to facilitate renewable energy transmission.
