(BRICS)."

BRICS comprises Brazil,
Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

The meeting serves as a
ministerial-level platform for cooperation in energy security, energy access, technology,
and sustainability.

India's priorities under
its BRICS Presidency 2026 are Energy Security and Sustainability, Energy Access
and Equity, and Technology and Innovation.

BRICS countries
contributed 51% of global solar electricity generation in 2024, compared to 15%
a decade ago.

India has recorded a more
than 50-fold increase in solar power capacity over the past decade.

More than 60 million
smart meters have been deployed across India's power distribution network.

India has set a target of
410 GWh energy storage capacity by 2032.
