Indian Coast Guard hosted maiden Shipbuilding, Indigenisation & IT
Conference.
¨ On 27 November, the Indian Coast Guard hosted
the maiden Shipbuilding, Indigenisation & IT Conference in Madikeri,
Karnataka.
¨ This is a significant achievement in
strengthening the maritime capabilities of the country.
¨ A MoU was signed between the Indian Coast
Guard and the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association and the Defence
Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre.
¨ This partnership seeks to strengthen the
defence innovation eco-system and accelerate indigenisation efforts through the
Defence Innovation Hub in Coimbatore.
¨ DG ICG Paramesh Sivamani highlighted the
importance of self-reliance in shipbuilding.
¨ He also highlighted the successful progress
of the 200th indigenously built vessel (4th Pollution Control Ship), which is
currently undergoing sea trials.
¨ Project Digital Coast Guard has been
presented as a secure, scalable digital backbone for all units.
¨ During the conference, three documents were
released: the teaser of the e-book ‘History of Shipbuilding in the Indian Coast
Guard’, the Roadmap for Artificial Intelligence in ICG, and the ICG Cyber
Crisis Management Plan-2025.

Each reinforces the organization's commitment to technological
advancements, digital capability-building, and future-readiness.
