International Conference on Dam Safety 2026

¨     International Conference on Dam Safety 2026 held in Bengaluru at the J.N. Tata Auditorium at the Indian Institute of Science.

¨     The event was held on 13 and 14 February 2026 under the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) Phase II & III.

¨     The conference was organised by Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India and the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka.

¨     It was organised in collaboration with the Central Water Commission (CWC); Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru; and the World Bank.

¨     Siddaramaia, Chief Minister of Karnataka inaugurated the conference.

¨     Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Ministry of Jal Shakti, attended the inaugural session as Chief Guest.

¨     An AI-powered platform named DAMCHAT was launched during the inaugural session.

¨     It was developed by IIT Roorkee’s International Centre of Excellence for Dams.

¨     A Jal Shakti data management platform by the National Water Informatics Centre was also unveiled.

¨     The conference provides a global platform for knowledge exchange.

¨     More than 750 delegates attended the first day. Participants came from 12 countries.
