Organisation (ISRO) conducted the first ground test of the SOLVE solid motor on
3 July 2026 at the Static Test Facility of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
¨
SOLVE Full Form –
Sub-orbital Launch Vehicle for Experiments.
¨
SOLVE is a compact test
vehicle developed for carrying out integrated parachute tests of the Gaganyaan
Crew Module’s deceleration system.
¨
The vehicle is designed
to carry the Crew Module to an altitude of about 10–17 km.
¨
After reaching the
required altitude, the Crew Module separates and 10 parachutes deploy
sequentially before the module lands in the sea.
¨
The solid motor of SOLVE
has been derived from the strap-on motor of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle
(PSLV).
