Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited (JFDCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute

¨     Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited (JFDCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) on 22 July 2026.

¨     The MoU aims to establish the Jharkhand Film and Television Institute (JFTI) in Ranchi.

¨     It will be Jharkhand's first dedicated institute for film and television education and training.

¨     The institute will initially function from Suchna Bhawan, Ranchi.

¨     Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited (JFDCL) will be responsible for the development and infrastructure of the institute.

¨     Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) will manage the academic functions.

SRFTI's responsibilities include:

¨     Course design

¨     Curriculum development

¨     Faculty support

¨     Technical assistance

¨     Student assessment

¨     Certification

Initially, the institute will offer short-duration certificate courses in:

¨     Sound Design

¨     Film Editing

¨     Animation

¨     Script and Screenplay Writing

¨     Cinematography

¨     Direction

¨     Film Production

Undergraduate degree programmes are proposed for a later phase of expansion.The institute aims to strengthen film, television, and media skill development in Jharkhand.
