Justice Leesa Gill Becomes First Woman Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court

¨   Justice Leesa Gill has been sworn in as the first woman Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

¨     The oath-taking ceremony was held in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

¨     Governor S. Abdul Nazeer administered the oath on April 25 at Lok Bhavan.

¨     She succeeded Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur.

¨     Justice Thakur retired on April 24.

¨  Her appointment marks a historic step toward greater representation of women in the judiciary.

¨     It is seen as a progressive move.

¨     The development strengthens inclusivity and diversity in India’s legal system.
