strategic dialogue platform “Kalam & Kavach 3.0” was inaugurated on 14 May
2026 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.

The theme of the third
edition was “Advancing JAI with I².”
¨
JAI stands for Jointness,
Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), and Innovation.
¨
I² refers to Indigenisation
and International Collaboration.
¨
Kalam & Kavach is a
defence dialogue platform focused on strategic and military discussions in
India.
¨
The 2026 theme combined
three defence concepts and two industrial concepts into a single framework.
¨
Minister of State for
Defence Sanjay Seth delivered the inaugural address on 14 May 2026.
¨
Defence Minister Rajnath
Singh addressed the conference through a video message.
¨
Chief of Defence Staff
Anil Chauhan also participated in the event.
¨
Discussions focused on
future warfare and emerging technologies in modern military systems.
¨
Key topics included
AI-enabled warfare, autonomous systems, hypersonic technologies, and
quantum-enabled C4ISR capabilities.

Challenges related to Low
Earth Orbit (LEO) operations were also discussed.
¨ Integrated Theatre Commands were part of discussions on joint military planning and command structures.
¨ Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit stated that jointness, self-reliance, and innovation are interconnected in defence capability development.
