Nitish Kumar sworn in as
the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record tenth time.

On 20 November, Bihar
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath of office to Nitish Kumar as
the Chief Minister of Bihar at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

Earlier on 19 November,
Nitish Kumar was unanimously chosen as the leader of the NDA Legislature Party.
¨
His election followed the
formal selection as leader of the JD(U) Legislature Party in a meeting with
newly elected MLAs.
¨
Samrat Choudhary and
Vijay Kumar Sinha were elected again as leader and deputy leader of the BJP
Legislature Party.
¨
The proposals for their
leadership were placed by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad
Maurya acting as central observer.
¨
The oath-taking followed
NDA’s landslide victory in the Assembly elections, where it secured 202 of 243
seats.
¨
Nitish Kumar became the
Chief Minister for the first time in 2000, but it lasted only seven days..
