¨     Nitish Kumar sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record tenth time.

¨     On 20 November, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath of office to Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister of Bihar at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

¨     Earlier on 19 November, Nitish Kumar was unanimously chosen as the leader of the NDA Legislature Party.

¨     His election followed the formal selection as leader of the JD(U) Legislature Party in a meeting with newly elected MLAs.

¨     Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were elected again as leader and deputy leader of the BJP Legislature Party.

¨     The proposals for their leadership were placed by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya acting as central observer.

¨     The oath-taking followed NDA’s landslide victory in the Assembly elections, where it secured 202 of 243 seats.

¨     Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister for the first time in 2000, but it lasted only seven days..
