Olympian Esha Singh won the gold medal in
the women's 10m air pistol event at the Asian Rifle and Pistol Championship
• The competition was held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.
• She
achieved this victory on the very first day of the championship.
• Esha
Singh made a remarkable comeback in the final round, scoring 239.8.
• This
was her second senior individual gold medal at the Asian Championships.
• Cheng
Yen-ching of Chinese Taipei won the silver medal with a score of 235.4.
• Yu
Ai-wen of Chinese Taipei won the bronze medal with a score of 217.7.
• Esha
Singh also participated in the women's team event along with Olympic medalist
Manu Bhaker. Suruchi Singh was also a member of the team.
• The
Indian team won the gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol team event with a
combined score of 1726.
• Vietnam
won the silver medal and Chinese Taipei won the bronze medal in the team event.
• In
the men's 10m air pistol individual final, Samrat Rana finished in third place
and won the bronze medal.
