President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2026

¨     President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2026 to 15 nursing professionals at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of International Nurses Day.

¨     Each awardee received a certificate of merit, a medal, and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

¨     The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted by the Union Health Ministry to recognize the outstanding services of nursing professionals, including auxiliary nurse midwives, registered nurses, nursing officers, and nursing tutors.

¨     Ayesha Beevi from Lakshadweep was honoured for conducting a critical midnight delivery on a remote island, while Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Kulvinder Parhi from Ladakh was recognized for nearly three decades of service in high-altitude regions.

¨     Dr. Sharwan Kumar Dhaka from Delhi was awarded for his contribution to the COVID-19 vaccination campaign and public health services.

¨     Major General Lisamma PV of the Armed Forces Medical Services was honoured for her contribution to military healthcare services.
