RRP Defense Limited received a purchase order worth ₹29.83 crore plus applicable GST from Bharat Electronics Limited

¨     RRP Defense Limited received a purchase order worth ₹29.83 crore plus applicable GST from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on 20 May 2026.

¨ BEL is a Government of India enterprise engaged in defence electronics and related systems.

¨     The order includes the supply of high-precision germanium lenses.

¨  The products covered under the contract are:GE SF Lens 1 (Ø50X6.0),GE SF Lens 2 (Ø26X4.5)

¨     Germanium lenses are used in infrared and thermal imaging systems because germanium can transmit infrared radiation.

Infrared and thermal imaging systems are used in:

¨     Thermal cameras

¨     Surveillance systems

¨     Weapon sights

¨     Target acquisition equipment

These technologies are part of electro-optics, which combines optics, sensors, and electronic components for detection and imaging purposes.RRP Defense Limited will design, engineer, and customise the lenses according to BEL’s technical requirements.Initial sample quantities will be supplied before bulk production.The first bulk delivery is expected within 8 to 10 weeks from the receipt of the order. Monthly phased deliveries will continue until December 2026.The order supports India’s indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem.It is aligned with the Make in India initiative launched in 2014.It also supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat policy framework announced in 2020 for self-reliance in manufacturing and strategic sectors.
