SpaceX Becomes World’s Fifth Most Valuable Company

¨     SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk in 2002, became the world’s fifth most valuable company by market capitalisation on 16 June 2026, after its valuation surpassed Amazon.

¨     The company was listed on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol SPCX on 12 June 2026.

¨     Its Initial Public Offering (IPO) raised $75 billion, which later increased to $85.7 billion after the over-allotment option was exercised.

¨     SpaceX’s valuation reached approximately $2.97 trillion on 16 June 2026 and later closed around $2.66 trillion.

¨     On the same date, Amazon’s market capitalisation stood at about $2.65 trillion, placing SpaceX slightly ahead.

¨     Other estimates placed SpaceX’s valuation between $2.75 trillion and $2.84 trillion.

¨     The company debuted with an initial share price of $135 on 12 June 2026.

¨     The IPO became the largest in history in terms of funds raised.

¨     In terms of financial performance, SpaceX reported $18.7 billion revenue in 2025 with a net loss of $4.9 billion.

¨     In Q1 2026, the company recorded $4.69 billion revenue and a net loss of $4.27 billion.
