Telangana Budget 2026: ‘Indiramma Bima’
and Cashless Health Scheme Offer Security to Millions of Families
¨ Taking a major
welfare-oriented step in the 2026 Budget, the Telangana government announced
several significant schemes.
¨ Deputy Chief Minister
Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the budget in the State Legislative Assembly.

During this session, the
launch of the Indiramma Family Life Insurance Scheme and a new cashless health
scheme was announced. The objective of these schemes is to provide financial
security to families and government employees.
Indiramma Family Life Insurance Scheme

This scheme is one of the
key announcements of the budget and is set to be implemented starting June 2,
2026.

Insurance cover of ₹5
lakh for every family
¨
Benefits to reach
approximately 1.15 crore families across the state
¨
Provision of financial
security in the event of the sudden demise of the family's primary earning
member
Universal Coverage for All
The most significant highlight of this
scheme is its universal approach.

The scheme will cover all
families without any discrimination based on income or social class.
¨
The poor, the middle
class, and the high-income groups—all will receive equal protection.
¨
The government's aim is
to ensure that no family has to face a financial crisis due to an accident or
tragedy.
New Cashless Health Scheme
Alongside the aforementioned scheme, the
government also announced a new cashless health scheme for government employees
and pensioners
¨
This scheme will be
implemented through the Rajiv Aarogyasri Trust.
¨ Approximately 23.51 lakh beneficiaries will be covered, including employees, pensioners, and their dependents.
¨ Treatment facilities for 1,998 different ailments will be provided across all hospitals in the state.
