¨     The pellet plant in Rewari, Haryana has been inaugurated by Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi.

¨     He also laid the foundation stone for the K2 Bio-Ethanol plant in Rewari, Haryana.

¨     The inaugurated pellet plant has the capacity to produce 240 tonnes of pellets per day from stubble

¨     This is expected to improve air quality and support India’s E20 and Net Zero 2070 goals.

¨     Under new policy, all thermal plants are required to co-fire biomass and municipal solid waste to save the environment.

¨     The minister said that crop residue is now creating profit for farmers through pellet use in power plants.

¨     The new plant will use paddy straw, mustard straw and cotton stalks to make biomass pellets for thermal power co-firing.

¨     Union Minister Jitendra Singh inaugurated fabrication and central facilities at IIT Bombay under the National Quantum Mission.

¨     He said that India is among the first countries to adopt a national-level quantum mission.

¨     Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated the Skill India Centre in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.

¨     The centre aims to boost skill development opportunities in the region.
