¨     United States approved a USD 482.2 million military sustainment support package for India.

¨     The package supports the AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and M777A2 Ultra-Light Howitzers already in service with the Indian Armed Forces.

¨     The support is intended to improve the maintenance, readiness, and operational capability of these defence systems.

¨     The AH-64E Apache is a twin-engine attack helicopter developed by Boeing.

¨     It is used for anti-armour operations, reconnaissance, and close air support missions.

¨     The Apache sustainment package is valued at USD 198.2 million.

¨     It includes spare parts, ancillary equipment, repair and return services, training, technical assistance, field service representatives, and depot-level maintenance capability.

¨     The M777A2 Ultra-Light Howitzer is a 155 mm towed artillery gun designed for long-range fire support.

¨     The M777A2 support package is valued at approximately USD 230 million.

¨     It includes spare parts, repair services, training, technical assistance, and depot-level support.

¨     In May 2026, the United States Department of State informed the U.S. Congress about the proposed sales.

¨     On 17 June 2026, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) issued the formal notification in the Federal Register.
