¨     Andaman and Nicobar Islands set a Guinness World Record for the “Tallest Underwater Human Stack.”

¨     The record was achieved at the Swaraj Dweep Lighthouse Dive Site.

¨     Swaraj Dweep was formerly known as Havelock Island.

¨     The underwater structure involved 14 scuba divers.

¨     The human stack reached a height of 22.3 metres.

¨     The formation remained stable underwater for three minutes.

¨     D K Joshi participated in the record-setting attempt.

¨     The record was verified on-site by Rishi Nath.

¨     Guinness World Records certificates were awarded to the Andaman and Nicobar Administration after verification.

¨     This was the second Guinness World Record achieved by the islands in two consecutive days.

¨     The first record, set on 2 May 2026, was for the “Largest National Flag Unfurled Underwater.”

¨     The event was organized by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration in collaboration with the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and Andaman and Nicobar Police.

¨     Swaraj Dweep is a popular island in the Bay of Bengal, renowned for its scuba diving and marine tourism.

The achievement is expected to boost the global profile of adventure tourism and diving tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands
