¨     Delhi LakhpatiBitiya Yojana’ launched to secure education and financial future of girls.

¨     On 10 February, the ‘Delhi LakhpatiBitiya Yojana’ has been launched by the Delhi government to support girls’ education and financial security.

¨     The scheme has been introduced as an upgraded version of the Ladli Scheme of 2008.

¨     Financial assistance of up to ₹56,000 per beneficiary has been announced under the scheme.

¨     The assistance will be deposited in phased instalments linked to age and education milestones, starting from birth and continuing through graduation or diploma-level studies.

¨     The accumulated amount will be invested through structured financial instruments to ensure growth over time.

¨     On maturity, the funds will be transferred directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of beneficiaries.

¨     Eligibility is limited to girls born in Delhi with family income not exceeding ₹1.20 lakh per year.

¨     Registration is permitted at birth or at key stages such as school admission and higher education enrolment.

¨     The scheme restricts benefits to two surviving girl children per family.

¨     The initiative aims to ensure that no girl child discontinues education due to financial constraints.
