It is taking part in the multinational
maritime Exercise Malabar-2025.

INS Sahyadri is a stealth-guided missile
frigate built indigenously in India and shows India’s advanced naval design and
engineering capabilities.

During the Harbour Phase of Malabar-2025,
planned activities include planning sessions, communication coordination, and
friendly sports events.
¨
After the harbour phase, the participating
warships and aircraft will move to the Sea Phase, which will involve intensive
naval drills.
¨
Exercise Malabar a multinational naval
exercise. It involves India, the United States, Japan, and Australia.
¨ It
started as a bilateral exercise in 1992 between India and U.S. Japan was
included in 2015 and Australia was included in 2020.
