been officially notified in Ladakh, as announced by Lieutenant Governor Vijay
Kumar Saxena on social media.

He described it as a
historic day for Ladakh, fulfilling long-pending demands and aspirations of the
people.

With this decision, the
number of districts in Ladakh will increase from 2 to 7.
The five new districts are
1. Nubra
2. Sham
3. Changthang
4. Zanskar
5. Drass
The move aligns with the vision of a developed and prosperous
Ladakh.
The decision had already been approved by the Ministry
of Home Affairs in August 2024 under the leadership of the Home Minister.
