Government of Kerala launched “Project Zero” as an anti-corruption initiative in state administration

¨     The Government of Kerala launched “Project Zero” on 26 May 2026 as an anti-corruption initiative in state administration.

¨     The primary objective of the initiative is to eliminate corruption at all levels of governance in the state.

¨     The programme focuses on tackling bribery, cybercrime, and ensuring faster resolution of corruption-related complaints.

¨     Complaint handling is being strengthened through the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.

¨     Project Zero emphasises public participation and strict monitoring mechanisms to curb corruption.

¨     The initiative integrates technology to detect, investigate, and speed up corruption cases.

¨     It also aims to update and modernise the Vigilance Manual used for administrative vigilance procedures.

¨     Citizens are encouraged to report corruption directly to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.

¨     Confidentiality of complainants and whistleblowers is ensured under the framework.

¨     The programme covers both traditional bribery and digital bribery involving online platforms and electronic systems.

¨     Technology is used to make investigations faster and more efficient.

¨     Project Zero strengthens transparent governance and administrative oversight across departments.
