¨     India and Tajikistan held the 5th round of Foreign Office Consultations in Dushanbe.

¨  These discussions were co-chaired by Ambassador Sibi George, Secretary (West), and Tajikistan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Idibek Kalandar.

¨     Both sides reviewed the overall progress of bilateral relations across various sectors.

¨     Key areas reviewed included political relations, as well as defense and security cooperation.

¨     Trade, economic engagement, and cultural exchanges were also part of this review.

¨     Education and consular matters were also discussed during the consultations.

¨     Both countries explored avenues for cooperation across various multilateral forums.

¨     They also shared their views on significant regional and global developments.

¨     During his visit, Sibi George met with Tajikistan's Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

¨     The primary objective of this meeting was to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

¨     Both sides discussed expanding the scope of their bilateral engagement.

¨     Sibi George also interacted with members of the Indian community residing in Dushanbe.

¨  He appreciated the role played by the Indian community in enhancing relations between the two countries.
