¨     India ranked 4th globally in Artificial Intelligence (AI) performance and 5th in the Digital Economy Rankings.

¨     The achievement was highlighted in the State of India’s Digital Economy 2026 report.

¨     India improved its position in the Digital Economy Rankings from 8th place in 2025 to 5th place in 2026.

¨     In AI performance, India is behind only the United States, China, and Singapore.

¨     The report was released on 29 May 2026 by the ICRIER-Prosus Centre for Internet and Digital Economy.

¨     The assessment was based on indicators such as AI performance, digital trade, talent availability, and digital adoption.

¨     India ranks ahead of several developed economies, including Germany, France, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Canada, in AI performance.

¨     India possesses the world’s second-largest AI talent pool.

¨     India generated approximately US$328 billion in revenue from digitally delivered trade.

¨     This revenue includes software exports, information technology services, and cloud-based solutions.

¨     Digitally delivered trade refers to services supplied through digital networks and online platforms.
