Willie Walsh, a globally
recognised aviation leader, will assume charge by early August 2026 after
completing his tenure at the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

His appointment follows
the exit of Pieter Elbers after a major scheduling crisis that disrupted
thousands of flights and drew regulatory scrutiny.
¨ The move is widely seen
as a strategic effort to restore operational efficiency and enhance leadership
credibility.
Extensive Industry Experience

Walsh brings decades of
experience in aviation, having begun his career as a pilot with Aer Lingus
before rising to become its CEO.
