JSW Infrastructure received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority

¨     JSW Infrastructure received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority.

¨     The award is for the integrated development of the Outer Container Terminal and Berths 1–5 at Netaji Subhas Dock in the Kolkata Dock System.

¨     The project is valued at ₹832.25 crore.

¨     It will be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework.

¨     The project follows the DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer) model.

¨     The concession period is 30 years.

¨     The scope includes the construction of two new outer container handling berths.

¨     It also involves the modernization of five existing berths (Berths 1–5).

¨     The terminal is part of the Kolkata Dock System, operated by Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority.

¨     The project is expected to increase container and multipurpose cargo handling capacity by 0.93 million TEUs.

¨     This additional capacity is equivalent to approximately 13 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

¨     Earlier, JSW Infrastructure had also received an LoA for the reconstruction of Berth 8 and mechanization of Berths 7 and 8 at Netaji Subhas Dock.

¨     The earlier project will add 0.45 million TEUs of container handling capacity.

¨ The development is expected to strengthen port infrastructure and cargo-handling capabilities in Eastern India.
