¨     Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released the RBSK 2.0 guidelines on May 3, 2026, in New Delhi.

¨    The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) covers children from birth to 18 years, providing preventive, promotive, and curative care.

¨     RBSK was launched in 2013 under the National Health Mission.

¨  Earlier focus was on the 4Ds: Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies, and Developmental delays.

RBSK 2.0 expands coverage to include

¨     Mental health issues

¨     Behavioral disorders

¨     Risk factors for non-communicable diseases (like diabetes and hypertension)

¨     Early risks of childhood obesity and diabetes

Screening is conducted by mobile health teams

¨     0–6 years: Anganwadi centres

¨     Older children: Schools

Free treatment and follow-up through 451 District Early Intervention Centres (DEICs).Emphasis on universal access through community and school-level screening.Introduction of digital health cards and real-time data systems.Integrated digital platform for monitoring children’s health.End-to-end tracking from screening to referral, treatment, and follow-up.Identified cases are linked to intervention centres for continuous care.
