¨     Philippines has joined a United States-led initiative, “Pax Silica”, aimed at securing global semiconductor and technology supply chains.

¨     The move marks a significant step in reshaping industrial partnerships amid rising geopolitical tensions and growing demand for advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and chip manufacturing.

4,000-Acre Industrial Hub in Luzon

  • ¨     As part of the initiative, the United States and the Philippines will jointly develop a 4,000-acre industrial hub in Luzon.
  •    The project is expected to be located within the Luzon Economic Corridor, a key manufacturing and logistics region that includes the capital, Manila.
  •      The hub will focus on high-value sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, and critical minerals processing.

  • ¨  “Pax Silica” is a US-led framework designed to secure the full technology supply chain, from extraction of raw materials to advanced manufacturing and data infrastructure.
