Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Slovakia’s highest state decoration, the Order of the White Double Cross, First Class, in Bratislava

¨     Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Slovakia’s highest state decoration, the Order of the White Double Cross, First Class, in Bratislava on 15 June 2026.

¨     The honour was presented by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini during a special ceremony.

¨     It became the 33rd international honour conferred on Narendra Modi by a foreign country.

¨     The Order of the White Double Cross is Slovakia’s highest civilian and military state decoration.

¨     It is awarded to foreign citizens for exceptional contributions to friendly relations with Slovakia and to Slovakia’s foreign policy interests.

¨     First Class is the highest grade of the decoration.

¨     During the visit, India and Slovakia elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Partnership.

¨     Both countries signed 11 agreements in the areas of migration, digital technology, and defence.

¨     The visit marked the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country's independence.
