¨     Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor—a major infrastructure project aimed at strengthening connectivity and boosting economic growth in the region.

¨     Inauguration: The corridor was inaugurated by Narendra Modi in Dehradun, marking a significant milestone in infrastructure development within Uttarakhand.
¨     This project constitutes a world-class expressway corridor designed to enhance road connectivity between Delhi and Uttarakhand.
¨     Impact: The project is expected to boost trade, industry, logistics, and warehousing sectors, thereby generating new economic opportunities and creating jobs in the region.
¨     Investment: An investment of approximately ₹12,000 crore has been made in this project, resulting in large-scale job creation.
¨     Promotion of Tourism: Improved connectivity will facilitate easier access to major tourist destinations such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Mussoorie, thereby giving a fillip to tourism, including the Char Dham Yatra.
¨     Environmental Conservation: The project incorporates an approximately 12-km-long elevated wildlife corridor, which will ensure the safe movement of wildlife—such as elephants—and protect the forest ecosystem.
