The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 02/2026 to recruit 6,557 Technician posts across various Railway zones in India. The recruitment includes Technician Grade I Signal (Level 5) and Technician Grade III (Level 2) positions.

Age relaxation is available for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Railway employees, widowed/divorced women, and other eligible categories as per government rules.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed ITI, Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA), Diploma, or Engineering qualification, depending on the post. All qualifications must be completed on or before 29 July 2026. Candidates awaiting results are not eligible.

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in CBT)
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Female/Ex-Servicemen/Minority/EBC: ₹250 (refundable after appearing in CBT)

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Document Verification (DV)
  3. Medical Examination

The CBT will have negative marking of one-third (1/3) mark for each incorrect answer.

Medical Standards

Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards (A3, B1, B2, or C1) according to the post. Those found medically unfit will not be considered for appointment to that post.
