India’s Deep-Tech Capital

presented a vision to make the state India’s Deep-Tech Capital.

The initiative is linked
with the goal “Innovate in UP, Scale for the World”.

The plan is aligned with
the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Deep-tech refers to
technologies based on advanced scientific research and engineering.
¨
Such technologies involve
long development cycles and high levels of innovation.
¨
Artificial Intelligence
has been identified as a priority sector.
¨
Quantum computing is
another major focus area under the initiative.
¨
Special emphasis will be
placed on drone technology development.
¨
Green hydrogen research
and industrial applications will be promoted.
¨
Cybersecurity has been
identified as a key technology sector.
¨
Medical technology will
also form an important component of the deep-tech mission.
¨
The government aims to
bring research institutions, startups, and industries onto a common platform.
¨ Indian Institute of
Technology Kanpur has been identified as a major centre for technological
development.
¨
The Gangwal School of
Medical Sciences and Technology at IIT Kanpur is developing med-tech solutions.
¨
The institution is
expected to begin operations in November 2026.
¨
Research activities will
be carried out at IIT Kanpur.
¨
Industrial scaling and
technology deployment will be managed from Noida.
¨
A “UP Deep-Tech Hub” is
planned to be established in Noida.
¨
The state government is
establishing a “Cyber Security Technology Translation Research Park”.
¨
Such research parks
support technology transfer and prototype development.
¨
The park will encourage
collaboration between industries and research institutions.
¨
It will promote the
commercial application of cybersecurity technologies.
¨
Uttar Pradesh also plans
to establish a Centre of Excellence for Green Hydrogen.
¨ The centre will work on
production, storage, and safety standards related to green hydrogen.
¨
Industrial applications
of green hydrogen technology will also be developed.
¨
Discussions were held on
establishing a special institutional centre for scientific testing of Ayurvedic
medicines.
¨ Clinical validation will be used to scientifically evaluate Ayurvedic treatments.
¨ The initiative aims to provide global recognition to Ayurvedic therapies.
