¨     Harsh Malhotra was appointed President of the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on 28 May 2026.

¨     He replaced Virendra Sachdeva in the organisational post.

¨     The appointment was part of a wider BJP organisational reshuffle that also covered Haryana, Punjab, and Tripura.

¨     Harsh Malhotra was 62 years old at the time of his appointment.

¨     He was serving as Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Corporate Affairs in the government led by Narendra Modi.

¨     He won the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 General Elections as a first-time Member of Parliament.

¨     Harsh Malhotra served as a Councillor from Welcome Colony in 2012.

¨     He was Mayor of the former East Delhi Municipal Corporation during 2015–16.
