Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare approved large-scale procurement of pulses and oilseeds at Minimum Support Price under the Price Support Scheme

¨     Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare approved large-scale procurement of pulses and oilseeds at Minimum Support Price (MSP) under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) on 18–19 June 2026.

¨     The procurement covers Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana for Summer 2026 and the Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2025–26.

¨     The approved commodities include moong (green gram), urad (black gram), and groundnut.

¨     Under the Price Support Scheme (PSS), the Central Government procures notified agricultural commodities when market prices fall below the MSP.

¨     Minimum Support Price (MSP) is the minimum price fixed by the Government for selected kharif and rabi crops.

¨     Uttar Pradesh received approval to procure 48,298 metric tonnes of moong, 97,970 metric tonnes of urad, and 41,718 metric tonnes of groundnut, with a total MSP value of over ₹1,490 crore.

¨     Gujarat received approval to procure 18,250 metric tonnes of moong, with an MSP value of over ₹160 crore.

¨     Haryana received approval to procure 2,115 metric tonnes of moong, with an MSP value of over ₹18 crore.

¨     In Tamil Nadu, the moong procurement limit for RMS 2025–26 was increased from 885 metric tonnes to 990 metric tonnes.

¨   The additional 105 metric tonnes approved for Tamil Nadu has an MSP value of ₹8.68 crore.

¨  Summer 2026 procurement and RMS 2025–26 procurement represent two different seasonal marketing windows in India's agricultural procurement system.
