NAFED and the NCCF to procure pulses and
oilseeds directly from farmers

Union Cooperation Minister
directed the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) and
the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation (NCCF) to procure pulses and
oilseeds directly from farmers.

Under the new system,
payments will be transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts.
¨
The initiative has a
two-year implementation target, to be completed by June 2028.
¨
NAFED is a national-level
cooperative organization engaged in agricultural marketing and procurement.
¨
NCCF is a national
cooperative federation involved in consumer services and procurement-related
activities.
¨
Pulses and oilseeds are
key agricultural commodities in India's food and edible oil supply chains.
¨
Direct procurement
eliminates intermediaries and ensures direct bank transfer (DBT) of payments to
farmers.
¨
On 23 June 2026, four new
NAFED initiatives were launched in New Delhi.
¨
Nafex.in is a digital
auction platform for procured pulses and oilseeds.
¨
DRISHTI is an inventory
management system for pulses and oilseeds.
¨
ERP (Enterprise Resource
Planning) is an integrated system for organizational management and
administration.
NAFED Kalyan is a scholarship programme that supports higher education and career development for children from farming families
