¨     Squadron Leader Sanya became the first female officer in the Indian Air Force to attain the Category 'A' Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) qualification.

¨  The Category 'A' Qualified Flying Instructor rating is considered one of the highest categories of instructors within the Indian Air Force.

¨   This qualification signifies expertise in advanced flight training and adherence to high operational standards.

¨  Qualified Flying Instructors (QFIs) are officers who are specially trained to impart instruction on flight operations to pilots.

Key roles of a Category 'A' QFI include

¨     Conducting advanced pilot training

¨     Evaluating junior instructors

¨     Upholding safety and operational protocols within flying units

Squadron Leader Sanya was commissioned into the Indian Air Force on June 20, 2015, through the 42 SSC (W) FP Course.She was promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant in 2017.In 2021, she was promoted to the rank of Squadron Leader.In the Indian Air Force, female officers serve across various domains, including aircraft operations, logistics, administration, and technical branches.The Indian Armed Forces have inducted women into numerous roles related to combat support and training.
