¨     Velamala Simmanna has been chosen for the 2025 Lok Nayak Foundation literary award.

¨     Velamala Simmanna is a distinguished Telugu writer, who has published more than 100 books.

¨     The honour includes a cash prize of ₹2 lakh. The award ceremony will take place on January 18, 2026.

¨     This date is observed to mark the death anniversaries of N. T. Rama Rao and poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

¨     The awards recognise individuals who significantly promote Telugu language and literature.

¨     Four people have been chosen for the foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Awards.

¨     The recipients are oncologist Nori Dattatreyudu, Dallas-based Telugu cultural advocate Thotakura Prasad, longtime Detroit physician Vemulapalli Raghavendra Choudhary, and Kensington–Chelsea Deputy Mayor Aarien Uday Areti.

¨     Each Lifetime Achievement Award includes a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

¨     The event will have Andhra Pradesh Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju as a guest.
