Government of Odisha signed
a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with India's ACME Group and Japan's IHI
Corporation.
¨
The collaboration
involves projects worth ₹67,000 crore.
¨
The agreement focuses on
clean energy, advanced manufacturing, industrial development, and the green
hydrogen ecosystem in Odisha.
¨
A Green Ammonia Plant
with a capacity of 0.4 MTPA will be established at Gopalpur, Ganjam district,
with an investment of ₹20,000 crore.
¨
The project also includes
₹1,000 crore for jetty-less floating terminal infrastructure at Gopalpur to
support export-oriented operations.
¨
Another Green Ammonia
Plant with a capacity of 0.8 MTPA will be developed at Paradip, Jagatsinghpur
district, with an investment of ₹34,000 crore.
¨
A Green Methanol Project
with a capacity of 0.1 MTPA will be set up at Paradip with an investment of
₹12,000 crore.
¨
The projects are expected
to generate 7,000–7,600 direct jobs, while total direct and indirect employment
may exceed 8,000.
¨ The initiatives will strengthen green steel production, green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol value chains.
¨ These projects are expected to enhance Odisha’s position as a major clean energy and green industrial hub in India.
