Union Health Minister
Jagat Prakash Nadda launched Aarogya Setu 2.0 and related digital health
initiatives on 29 June 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
¨
Aarogya Setu 2.0 has been
transformed from a COVID-19 contact-tracing app into a Personal Health Record (PHR)
application under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
¨
It serves as a digital
gateway for managing health records and accessing government health schemes.
¨
The app enables users to
create and manage an Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA).
¨
It allows secure sharing
of digital health records with user consent.
¨
It also provides a
Scan-and-Share facility for quick registration at healthcare facilities.
¨
Ayushman Bharat Digital
Mission (ABDM) is India’s national digital health ecosystem that enables interoperable
digital health records and digital health identifiers.
¨
As of 1 June 2026, over
90 crore ABHA accounts had been generated under ABDM.
¨
As of 25 June 2026, the
ecosystem included 380+ million ABHA Health IDs, 4.8 lakh+ registered health
facilities, and 9.5 lakh+ registered doctors.
¨
The National Health
Claims Exchange (NHCX) was launched to standardise health insurance claims
between hospitals and insurers.
¨ NHCX aims to speed up claim settlements and reduce errors in claims processing.
¨ Other initiatives launched include the Drug Registry, Common LOINC Codes for India (CLCI), and the Bharat Health Terminology Service (BHTS).
