Uttar Pradesh and Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding

¨     Uttar Pradesh and Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on 21 August 2026.

¨     The agreements were signed during the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow.

¨     A ₹600-crore fund was announced to support Yamanashi-based Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) investing in Uttar Pradesh.

¨     A dedicated Yamanashi Desk will be established at Invest UP to facilitate investor coordination and approvals.

¨     A 90-day review mechanism was agreed upon to monitor land allotments and resolve investment-related issues.

¨     The MoUs cover areas such as technical training, skill development, tourism, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

¨     Japanese Global Capability Centres will be promoted in Noida and Greater Noida.

¨     An MoU was also signed between Invest UP and the Technical Training & Research Centre, Kanpur.

¨     The Kanpur agreement focuses on workforce development and placement linkages.

¨     The partnership aims to strengthen Japanese investment, skill development, employment opportunities, and industrial cooperation in Uttar Pradesh.
